Profile of a Qualified DJ/Event Host

As a professional Disk Jockey and Master of Ceremonies for well over 10 years now, I've decided to dedicate myself to re-inventing what a DJ should be:

-A Qualified Event Host who doesn't just work for you during the time of your event, but takes the time to get to know you, what you want and need.  For example, my standard wedding package has at least 10 hours of preparation time.  Many DJs simply just show up to an event with the songs you want played (if they do that much ahead of time).  The difference between forgettable and unforgettable is... PLANNING!

-An Energetic Event Host who greets guests at the door, gets to know the supporting staff and is willing to present you in the best possible light to your guests.  This takes years of experience and... you guessed it- planning!

-A Master of Ceremonies who is cordial, professional and can give direction to your guests effectively.  Many DJs do not spend adequate time thinking about what to say, or when they speak it's an incoherent mumble... this leads to regrettable events where you wish you would have just done it yourself!

-A Professional Disk Jockey who can process music requests quickly and set an overall mood for your event.  Anyone can set a playlist and go with it.  A professional DJ is the difference between music playing with a near empty room, and everyone saying "aaawwwwwwwwww!" when it's time to end for the night.

-A High-Energy Disk Jockey who doesn't spend the whole night camped out at their console, but interacts with your guests- directs attention and feeds the energy of the crowd.  Everyone has seen at least one DJ in their life who thinks it takes being edgy, wacky or stupid to get a crowd interested.  I take the time to get to know and understand my event, so I know what things not to say.  It's why I require a 10-hour preparation package for my weddings!

-A Mobile Entertainer who has the right equipment, backup equipment, is insured and knows how to adapt their setup to the event.  If you spent all the time and effort to decorate, shouldn't you hire a DJ who understands that no one really wants to see their big huge speakers?

-A Music Lover who keeps a library of over 20,000 songs and always keeps the Mobile Beat Top 200 on hand, even when they're no longer in the top 200!

More about me:

I helped manage a major DJ company in Colorado and I can tell you first hand that the DJs under me did not have these skills.  Many of them were doing weddings as their first events!  What's worse is that they are often paid little over $100 for your event, but you are being charged a lot more than that.  How excited do you think that DJ is to be at your event?

That's why I started my own business in 2006, to break away from the corporate marketing controlled DJ business and give my clients what they really need!

As YOUR Professional Event Host- I vow to give you the maximum value for your dollar:

  • My wedding packages start not at 4 hours, but 16 (12 hours prep and 4 hour minimum event), as being meeting with you and being prepared are, again, the difference between regrettable and forgettable...  and a day you'll never forget and certainly never want to end.
  • Mitzvah Packages are flexible with a recommended 8 hours prep, and the option of a second DJ to allow me to focus on being your host!
  • Sweet 16, Birthday Parties and Special Dances at attractive professional rates
  • School Dances and Charity Events at reduced rates!  Ask me about my "Squeaky Clean" Prep Package!
  • Corporate Events and Holiday Parties - if you have 20 employees or 2000- I am your PROFESSIONAL Event Host, working to make sure everyone feels welcome and relaxed!
  • Create-Your-Own Event - from highly customized Murder Mystery parties to themed dances and anniversary celebrations- I may have done most but I will never say I've done them 'all'... because you are special and unique, and your Event Host should reflect that!  I will work with you for however long you need to make your event unforgettable!

I would love to meet with you to discuss more!  I'll buy you a cup of coffee and we can have a no-pressure meeting- I even promise to leave my contracts at home.  I'm confident that once you compare my services to the competition you'll want me as your DJ/Event Host/Master of Ceremonies!
